Senior Applied AI Product Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

Location: Fully remote within the continental United States; listed location is Houston, TX.

hirify.global is delivering a large federal government healthcare modernization project through EZLabs, its AI innovation division.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement AI-powered features for patient engagement, care coordination, claims management, and operational efficiency.
• Use Claude Code and related AI development tools to build, test, troubleshoot, and maintain full-stack software products.
• Develop APIs, backend services, automation pipelines, and LLM integrations.
• Translate requirements into scalable, user-focused solutions with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders.
• Apply software engineering, DevOps, and MLOps practices to testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and performance optimization.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and implementation approaches to improve product functionality and engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or full-stack application development.
• Demonstrated proficiency using Claude Code to develop functional software products, including feature implementation, debugging, and result validation.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable programming languages, with experience developing frontend components, backend services, and APIs.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into applications through APIs, prompt engineering, AI agents, generative AI workflows, or retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and test coverage.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and contribute effectively in a remote Agile environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required. Selected candidates must successfully complete a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting when applicable.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Cursor, Codex, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, or AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience developing deployed AI applications or supporting healthcare, payer/provider, federal government, or Department of Veterans Affairs technology initiatives.
