Software Engineering Program Manager

Location: 100% remote for candidates based in the United States.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of technical programs, aligning delivery with organizational priorities and ensuring consistent outcomes.
• Own program cadences, including tracking, status and risk logs, early blocker escalation, and recommendations.
• Build and maintain executive-ready reports and dashboards covering delivery, spend, support metrics, and engineering velocity.
• Facilitate alignment across global engineering teams and senior leaders on strategic requirements and plans.
• Communicate ideas persuasively to influence decisions and program outcomes.
• Support planning cycles, governance processes, and executive communications for the CTO's leadership team while improving AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing technical programs in a software engineering environment, independently handling complex issues and working with senior stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of how software is built and shipped, including sprints, releases, and dependencies.
• Demonstrated data fluency: defining metrics, tracking them rigorously, surfacing risks early, and using data to drive decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners across global engineering teams.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills for making informed decisions independently on complex issues.
• Ability to identify when to escalate and follow up respectfully and persistently with senior leaders and engineers.
• Experience delivering executive presentations and reporting, and using AI assistants with good judgment.
• Growth mindset demonstrated through learning, embracing challenges, and applying new skills quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Jira and Confluence administration, including JQL, dashboards, and workflow configuration.
• Experience building or customizing AI workflows, including reusable prompts, skills, or light scripting in Python or SQL.
• Experience with executive presentations or reporting.
• Familiarity with cloud, database, or developer-platform products.
• Exposure to CAPA, OKRs, or agile planning methods.
• Program management certification such as PMP or CAPM.
