Head of Technical Program Management for Applied AI

Salary: US Tier 1 $225K–$250K; US Tier 2 $198K–$220K; US Tier 3 $191K–$212.5K; London £123K–£137K; Berlin €126K–€140K. Equity offered.

What you will do

• Own customer outcomes, technical delivery, timelines, quality SLAs, margins, and satisfaction across Applied AI programs.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale Technical Program Managers, project managers, and distributed expert and vendor workforces.
• Lead capacity planning, staffing, resource allocation, delivery forecasting, and high-volume operational execution.
• Build standardized intake, scoping, kickoff, quality control, reporting, close-out, playbooks, systems, processes, and dashboards.
• Partner with frontier AI labs, research leads, Sales, Engineering, Product, Production, and Operations on scope, pricing, escalations, and delivery workflows.
• Establish quality systems for multilingual and multimodal data, including calibration, gold sets, inter-annotator agreement, LLM-as-a-judge evaluation, model evaluation pipelines, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years in delivery, operations, or program leadership, including 5+ years managing managers or multi-team delivery organizations.
• Proven ownership of a large, customer-facing delivery portfolio with accountability for SLAs, quality, margin, and customer outcomes.
• 5+ years of direct people management experience building and scaling TPM, Product, or Engineering teams in high-growth AI or enterprise technology environments.
• Hands-on understanding of LLMs, multimodal models, training and inference pipelines, and multilingual and multi-domain datasets.
• Hands-on experience delivering AI training data, human data, LLM evaluation, annotation, or localization programs at scale with distributed contributors or vendors.
• Experience building technical program functions, operating systems, processes, and systems from scratch, then scaling them in high-velocity environments.
• Experience managing AI-specific operational risks such as dataset contamination, domain drift, quality decay, and SLA vulnerabilities.
• Strong data fluency with SQL, spreadsheets, or BI tools for throughput, quality, cost-per-task, and utilization metrics.
• Excellent business acumen, executive presence, communication skills, and experience building high-trust partnerships with AI labs, customers, and enterprise executives.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, AI, or a related technical field with 12+ years of industry experience, or a Ph.D. with 8+ years.

Nice to have

• Experience at an AI data, human data, or language services company, or delivering for frontier AI labs.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams across time zones.
• Familiarity with Python and program tooling such as Linear, Jira, or custom analytics for reporting and workflow automation.
• Fluency in multiple human languages.
