AI Engineer

Location: Remote in Canada

Salary: CA$121K–CA$182K (Canada Tier 2) or CA$143K–CA$214K (Canada Tier 1); performance-based incentives or bonuses and equity may apply.

What you will do

• Create agentic capabilities, including frameworks for monitoring, guardrailing, evaluation, and improved agent collaboration.
• Perform classical machine learning work such as exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model fine-tuning.
• Work with Product and Research to translate AI research into applicable features and software engineering projects.
• Rapidly iterate on prototypes and features based on feedback and evolving product needs.
• Contribute production-ready code and scalable software across engineering.
• Track emerging agentic developments and explore new opportunities.

Requirements

• At least an MSc in Computer Science or a related field with exposure to AI/ML.
• Deep expertise in AI/ML, software engineering, or AI security.
• Strong programming skills in Python and relevant ML and/or agentic frameworks.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with a high degree of end-to-end ownership, delivering real-world outcomes.
• Ability to learn other programming languages and technologies as needed to ship scalable and reliable software.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field focused on AI/ML or a similar discipline.
• Hands-on experience with agent orchestration, agent harnesses, agent teams, jailbreaking or prompt injection, red teaming, data poisoning or evasion attacks, secure model deployment or sandboxing, or detection and monitoring for AI misuse.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience in cybersecurity.
