Senior Scala Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from Ukraine

What you will do

• Develop and enhance full-stack functionality for an established data engineering product.
• Design and implement scalable solutions for data pipeline workflows.
• Build robust application components with Scala and JVM-based technologies.
• Apply agentic AI approaches and tools to improve product capabilities and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with a small engineering team on new functionality and continuous product improvement.
• Participate in solution design, technical discussions, code reviews, testing, delivery, and technical improvement planning.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Scala, or solid expertise in other JVM-based technologies with the ability to quickly adopt Scala.
• Proven full-stack development experience and ability to contribute across different application layers.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI solutions, AI agents, or agent-based development approaches.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, application architecture, and development best practices.
• Experience with complex, production-grade applications and existing codebases.
• Ability to analyze technical challenges and independently propose practical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative engineering team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiency.
