Senior Software Engineer (Go/Ruby, Webhooks)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, ship, and support improvements to webhook services and APIs.
• Build and maintain event-driven systems handling high volumes of traffic reliably.
• Debug issues across service boundaries and improve tooling and observability for incident investigation.
• Partner with infrastructure teams on platform performance, dependencies, databases, queues, networking, and compute infrastructure.
• Support hirify.global teams building webhook integrations and provide technical leadership through mentoring, pairing, and code reviews.
• Maintain service health through on-call and first-responder rotations, architecture proposals, scaling experiments, prototypes, and safe CI/CD delivery.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python; alternatively, an associate’s degree plus 5+ years, a bachelor’s degree plus 4+ years, a master’s degree plus 2+ years, a doctorate, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience maintaining highly available, high-volume platforms.
• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining event-driven systems.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of experience with a scripting language such as Bash, Python, or a similar language.
• At least 2 years of experience with a general-purpose programming language such as Go, Ruby, or a similar language.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud environments and/or Cloud Native Computing Foundation concepts.
• Experience with queuing or streaming systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with relational or distributed databases.
• Experience working on distributed teams with strong written and verbal communication skills.
