Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Golang)

Location: New York, New York; hybrid role based in the New York City office.

Salary: $188,000–$242,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own large-scale projects independently from discovery through launch, focusing on outcomes and customer impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and product managers, to solve customer challenges.
• Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems.
• Enhance high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure, testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment infrastructure.
• Keep highly sensitive data compartmentalized and secure.
• Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, documentation, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional hands-on experience.
• Mastery of modern server-side programming languages; Golang is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS.
• Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers and acting as a force multiplier.
• Experience working closely with designers and product managers.
• Strong judgment, resourcefulness, teamwork, communication, influence, leadership, continuous learning, and knowledge-sharing skills.

• Experience with Golang.
