Large Case Underwriter (Re/Insurance)

Location: Hybrid, with work from a hirify.global office three days per week in Windsor, CT; Plano, TX; Kansas City, MO; Houston, TX; Washington, D.C.; Alpharetta, GA; Armonk, NY; Chicago, IL; Schaumburg, IL; New York, NY; or Fort Wayne, IN, United States. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, visa transfers, or visa extensions.

Base salary: $128,000–$192,000 for Chicago, Plano, Fort Wayne, Kansas City, Schaumburg, Alpharetta, and Windsor; $136,000–$204,000 for Armonk, New York, and Washington, D.C.

What you will do

• Evaluate complex medical, non-medical, financial, highly substandard, and multi-impairment risks using evidence-based risk selection and sound underwriting judgment.
• Underwrite large case, high-net-worth, and foreign-national life business while applying mortality assessment principles.
• Deliver underwriting decisions aligned with hirify.global's risk appetite, pricing objectives, corporate strategy, and underwriting guidelines.
• Build client relationships and collaborate with pricing, product, legal, medical, and underwriting colleagues on complex cases and initiatives.
• Participate in and lead internal and external audits, governance, quality assurance, product, and continuous-improvement activities.
• Represent hirify.global with clients and at industry events, share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and support learning across the Americas.

Requirements

• Large Case Underwriting experience with a minimum of $10 million approval authority.
• Significant experience with high-net-worth, complex cases, and foreign-national business.
• Vast knowledge of industry developments, regulatory changes, and medical advances affecting underwriting decisions.
• Strong, established relationships across the life underwriting community.
• Ability to partner with medical staff and underwriting colleagues while applying underwriting philosophy and guidelines consistently.
• Ability to work from a hirify.global office three days per week every week.
