Principal Materials & Systems Lead

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; primarily office-based with occasional travel, typically less than 25%.

Salary: $92,600–$154,400 per year.

What you will do

• Lead continuous improvement and implementation of lean material flow processes across manufacturing and warehousing operations.
• Maintain MRP performance reporting covering inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and excess and obsolete inventory reduction.
• Lead material flow projects involving PFEP, supplier alignment, Kanban, pull systems, MRP, material conveyance, and point-of-use presentation.
• Use ERP systems to create planning reports and configure MRP requirements in alignment with lean inventory initiatives.
• Drive cost reduction, process automation, parts-shortage reduction, and improvements in production and materials planning.
• Coordinate with GPSC, Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning, and business leaders while developing materials management talent and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with eight or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Occasional travel is required, typically less than 25%.

• Relevant industry certifications.
• Purchasing experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience mentoring and leading team members through direct reporting relationships or project work.
• Effective communication, strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
• Proficiency with web-based software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
