Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: United States — remote; 25% expected travel.

What you will do

• Analyze performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements for IT automation solutions.
• Develop AI-powered automations for incident, service request, problem, knowledge management, and other IT operations.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance, monitoring, backup, recovery, archival, and application deployment across server, compute, storage, network, database, and endpoint environments.
• Implement AIOps capabilities for alert correlation, pattern detection, failure prediction, noise reduction, and automated remediation.
• Build infrastructure-as-code templates, testing workflows, CI/CD pipelines, cloud optimization workflows, and repeatable DevOps runbooks.
• Document architectures and operational procedures, identify automation opportunities with IT leadership and cross-functional teams, and collaborate with engineering and security teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of IT systems engineering experience across servers, networks, storage, cloud, databases, and end-user and endpoint management.
• Proficiency in Python or comparable programming technologies, with a strong foundation in API utilization and systems integration.
• Experience with M365 or equivalent Microsoft ecosystem technologies, including on-premises and cloud environments, Azure, Entra, endpoint management, servers, Active Directory, and Intune.
• Experience with hybrid, multi-forest, multi-tenant, and multi-cloud architectures.
• Ability to understand complex technical ecosystems and operational workflows and design integration approaches.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and deliver results amid evolving or ambiguous requirements.
• Experience collaborating with enterprise operational teams, particularly in manufacturing, quality, engineering services, or supply chain operations.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI pipelines, agent-based automation frameworks, tool orchestration, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted IT operations tools, AIOps platforms, or LLM-based agents, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills using logs, metrics, traces, and other telemetry.

• Industry-leading certifications.
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Familiarity with observability platforms, monitoring systems, SIEM/SOAR tools, and automated remediation frameworks.
• Experience supporting financial processes, purchasing workflows, asset management, or cloud cost optimization.
• Background in internal engineering, platform operations, or IT automation roles.
• Experience in regulated government environments such as GCC High or AWS GovCloud.
