Senior IT

Location: Remote from South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, or Mexico; 4-hour EST overlap required.

What you will do

• Own IT end to end across systems, identity, access, onboarding, offboarding, tooling, and vendor relationships across the portfolio.
• Design a secure BYOD posture for distributed teams, contractor workflows, and cross-border data.
• Rationalize the SaaS stack, eliminate shadow IT, consolidate overlapping tools, and deliver visible monthly savings.
• Implement identity and access management that enables people to work across portfolio companies with fewer permission barriers.
• Build practical processes with AI integrated into workflows, measure adoption, and improve what is not working.
• Establish baseline security and governance controls, document runbooks, explain risks and tradeoffs, and lead collaboration with security consultants where needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT functions in startup or scale-up environments, including building an IT function from scratch or meaningfully restructuring one.
• Experience supporting remote or hybrid distributed teams, including fully remote work experience.
• Strong identity and access management foundation.
• Builder mindset and ability to ship systems that operate without ongoing dependence on you.
• Confidence defending technical decisions and bringing stakeholders along.
• Clear communication skills, including explaining complex IT topics to non-technical people and documenting systems.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a BYOD workforce.
• Familiarity with PIPEDA or other Canadian privacy requirements.
• Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks, including cybersecurity and compliance operations.
• Prior portfolio or multi-entity IT experience.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, ClickUp, Figma, and AI tools across teams.
