IT Operations Engineer

Location: United States; NY, SF or Remote. Remote work is available for a distributed team across the US and Europe, with required synchronous meetings primarily during US daytime hours. Office IT support is required at the New York City and San Francisco hubs.

What you will do

• Own corporate IT end to end, including identity, devices, SaaS, employee onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day support.
• Administer Okta or another SSO provider, including application integrations, groups, provisioning, deprovisioning, MFA policies, access requests, and periodic access reviews.
• Manage the macOS fleet through MDM, including enrollment, configuration profiles, OS and application patching, encryption, procurement, shipping, inventory, and device recovery.
• Automate onboarding, provisioning, device compliance checks, and other repetitive IT workflows using Python, shell scripts, Okta Workflows, or HRIS integrations.
• Manage SaaS licenses, renewals, spending, unused seats, vendors, IT procedures, runbooks, and asset inventory.
• Maintain day-to-day IT security controls, collect audit evidence, support security awareness training and phishing simulations, and provide office IT support at the New York and San Francisco hubs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in IT operations or systems administration, including at least 1–2 years at a startup or small, fast-moving team.
• Hands-on administration experience with Okta or a similar SSO provider such as Microsoft Entra ID, OneLogin, or JumpCloud.
• Proven macOS fleet management experience with an MDM such as Kandji, Mosyle, Jamf, Intune, or a similar platform.
• Google Workspace administration experience.
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or a similar language, with a habit of automating repeated tasks.
• Clear written communication and consistent documentation.
• Ability to support a distributed team across US and European time zones and attend some synchronous meetings during US daytime hours.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 audit, or using Secureframe, Vanta, Drata, or a similar compliance platform.
• Experience with Okta Workflows or other no-code automation tools.
• Linux familiarity and basic GCP or AWS IAM experience.
• Experience supporting a remote team across time zones.
