Senior Principal Engineer (AI Content Systems)

What you will do

• Design and build serverless, event-driven pipelines that generate curricula and exercises with text, images, and audio at scale.
• Build evaluation systems to track generation quality as prompts and models change.
• Integrate language experts’ judgments into system behavior and determine which decisions require human review.
• Ensure generated content is traceable and reproducible from reviewer feedback to the exact prompt, model, and input.
• Set technical direction through design reviews, pairing, and decomposition of ambiguous work without managing engineers.
• Influence engineering, product, platform, and curriculum priorities while shipping with coding agents and verifying their output.

Requirements

• Strong system design experience, especially with serverless and event-driven architectures on AWS or a comparable cloud.
• Experience shipping production LLM applications relied on by real users, supported by a real evaluation practice.
• Experience building data or content pipelines with idempotency, versioning, replay, and partial-failure handling.
• Experience leading a team technically through a hard deadline or important plan change, re-planning and still delivering.
• Experience working with non-engineering domain experts and translating their judgment into system behavior.
• Fluency in Python or TypeScript.
• Daily use of coding agents with a habit of verifying their output.
• Clear communication and the ability to maintain a technical position with engineers, product stakeholders, and domain experts.

Nice to have

• Background in computational linguistics, NLP, or applied linguistics.
• Experience with educational technology or content platforms.
• Experience with RAG, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows in products.
• Experience validating LLM-as-judge setups against human reviewers.
• Public technical work such as talks, writing, or open source.
