Head of Platform (AI)

Location: Remote; conditions: Tel Aviv, Israel

Company

hirify.global is hiring a Head of Platform to lead the company-wide platform function.

What you will do

• Lead the platform group serving all product squads and report to the VP R&D.
• Own the AWS and Kubernetes foundation, focusing on reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Standardize Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD, self-service tooling, service packages, migrations, databases, and developer platform capabilities.
• Build a data engineering function and reliable, scalable pipelines for large volumes of data from multiple sources.
• Build infrastructure for developing, deploying, and running AI agents, and introduce internal AI agents, Claude, and related tooling while managing costs.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers; define processes and technical strategy; prioritize across four domains; and partner with product squads, data science, and R&D leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including platform or infrastructure teams in a scaling technology company.
• Proven hands-on engineering experience in DevOps, infrastructure, platform, or backend.
• Strong technical foundation in cloud architecture and infrastructure, including AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD.
• Experience balancing reliability, scalability, delivery speed, and cost.
• Ability to lead across multiple technical disciplines, including areas where specialists have deeper expertise.
• Experience building teams, defining technical strategy, and delivering cross-functional initiatives.
• Solid understanding of data pipelines and working with large-scale data.
• Hands-on approach, including diving into code, learning new domains quickly, and changing ineffective approaches.
• Strong execution and prioritization skills, including ownership, process building, bringing order to growth, and driving stakeholders toward results.

Nice to have

• Hands-on exposure to AI agents, LLM infrastructure, evaluations, or AI cost optimization.
• Experience building an internal developer platform or leading a developer experience function.
• Experience building or leading data engineering, ideally from scratch.
• Familiarity with Node.js, Python, microservices, Kafka, and Postgres.
