Senior Engineer - BI (Power BI)

Location: Onsite in Springfield, Missouri (hirify.global Base Camp)

What you will do

• Establish and scale a Business Intelligence Center of Excellence, defining BI standards, governance practices, naming conventions, and reusable development patterns.
• Gather requirements from cross-functional stakeholders and define, standardize, and document enterprise KPIs and business metrics.
• Design, develop, and deliver Power BI dashboards, semantic models, enterprise reporting assets, and scalable data structures.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data models using platforms such as Snowflake and dbt.
• Improve data quality, consistency, platform performance, query efficiency, model design, cost management, and long-term maintainability.
• Guide partner analytics teams and support business users through training, documentation, and self-service analytics enablement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in BI development, analytics, or data engineering roles.
• Strong expertise in SQL and enterprise data modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI and DAX.
• Experience building semantic layers, reusable data models, and scalable reporting frameworks.
• Experience across multiple business domains and stakeholder groups.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled analytics workflows, such as GitLab or Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, BI architecture, data pipelines, data quality, and governance principles.
• Ability to standardize business metrics, influence without direct authority, communicate with business and technical audiences, balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking, and operate in evolving or low-maturity data environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation tools.
• Retail, distribution, or supply chain experience.
