BI Report Developer (Power BI)

Location: 100% remote, work from home; candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $95,000–$100,800 per year, determined by competitive market analysis, internal equity, qualifications, experience, and business needs.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse, SQL Server, Synapse Analytics, and Tabular Models.
• Create complex DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs, and implement Power BI row-level security.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data models, report performance, and user experience.
• Manage Microsoft Fabric capacity resources, monitor usage, and troubleshoot report performance, data accuracy, and visualization issues.
• Participate in data governance and change control processes while performing analysis and creating data-driven narratives and interactive visualizations.
• Present complex findings and reports to executive stakeholders and support teammates through collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• At least three years of hands-on Power BI developer experience with a strong portfolio of diverse and impactful reports.
• Expertise working with structured data from Tabular Models, SQL Server, and Synapse Analytics.
• Proficiency in complex DAX expressions and calculations, Power BI data modeling, structured data transformation, and optimization.
• Familiarity with Power BI security mechanisms and intermediate Power BI Desktop skills, including custom visuals, themes, and advanced interactivity.
• Exceptional data analysis, storytelling, visualization, presentation, communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to present confidently to executive-level stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate, guide and support teammates, contribute to shared processes, maintain professionalism under pressure, and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Self-directed organizational and time-management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities with demanding timeframes, use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including off-hours support as part of an on-call rotation; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual communication tools such as Microsoft Teams and Slack.

Nice to have

• Scrum, Jira, or DevOps experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake.
• Relevant Power BI certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Microsoft Certified: Power BI.
