Platform Analyst-Research Office Managed Services (Power BI)

What you will do

• Maintain, version-control, and continuously improve internal Power BI reports and dashboards used across client portfolios.
• Develop and maintain accurate, timely, visually clear client-facing reporting outputs aligned with client requirements.
• Answer routine reporting questions, triage issues, and coordinate fixes with the DevOps Platform Engineer.
• Support the Tech Committee by developing technical content, facilitating learning sessions, and building competency in Power BI, Azure DevOps, and AI tools.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and dashboard standards to support consistency and knowledge transfer.
• Assist with testing and QA for platform changes affecting reporting data flows and client-facing outputs, and recommend reporting automation or process improvements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or platform/reporting role within a technology-forward organization.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including report and dashboard development, DAX fundamentals, data model management, and workspace administration.
• Experience developing and maintaining client-facing reports or deliverables, with strong attention to data accuracy and presentation quality.
• Experience working with structured data from multiple sources, including Excel, SharePoint, SQL, and APIs, plus an understanding of basic ETL concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical outputs to non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with senior engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in Managed Services, consulting, or a multi-client delivery environment.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for task and project tracking.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Dataflows Gen2, or Power Query for data transformation.
• Experience facilitating training sessions, lunch-and-learns, or technical enablement activities.
• Familiarity with Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT as productivity aids in a professional workflow.
• Microsoft Power BI certification PL-300 or equivalent.

Hiring process

• Within the first 90 days, document the existing Power BI report inventory, triage known issues, and establish a remediation backlog.
• Review client-facing reporting outputs, propose a quality checklist or release process, and plan and deliver the first Tech Committee learning session.
• Identify at least one reporting process for automation or simplification and present a proposal to the team.
