SHEQ Lead Construction and Service (South)

Location: Hybrid, Liverpool, United Kingdom; responsibility for sites across the Midlands, Southern England, and South Wales, with occasional national travel and visits to Ireland. Project-site travel is required 2–3 days per week.

What you will do

• Provide on-site SHEQ leadership across live construction and service projects.
• Ensure compliance with UK and Irish HSE legislation, client standards, and internal policies.
• Review and support RAMS, SSOW, CPPs, site risk controls, and contractor documentation.
• Coach Site Managers, Project Managers, and Supervisors to build SHEQ ownership, accountability, and proactive behavioural safety.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, produce actionable reports, and follow up on corrective and preventative actions.
• Maintain SHEQ documentation, support audits and certification, and contribute to the SHEQ strategy.

Requirements

• Experience in SHEQ leadership within construction or civils, including leading SHEQ on live sites.
• Knowledge of UK HSE legislation, CDM 2015, and quality systems.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to coach, mentor, influence stakeholders at all levels, and build strong safety cultures.
• Organised, proactive, able to manage multiple priorities, and a clear, collaborative communicator.
• Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally to Ireland.
• Full UK driving licence.

Nice to have

• Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor qualification.
• Lead auditor certification for ISO 45001 or ISO 9001.
• Experience with SHEQ reporting platforms, Power BI, or SharePoint.
