What you will do

• Own planning and reporting standards across a portfolio of delivery teams, covering work breakdown, estimation, progress reporting, milestones, dependencies, and resources.
• Configure delivery tooling, including Microsoft Planner, to support practical team workflows.
• Define and support Power BI reports and dashboards showing progress, risks, dependencies, and resources to delivery leads, senior stakeholders, and clients.
• Assess existing tools and processes, recommend whether to retain, change, or retire them, and lead resulting improvements.
• Design and document repeatable ways of working, monitor adoption and effectiveness, and refine processes where teams encounter difficulties.
• Mentor and coach delivery managers, project managers, and PMO colleagues while working with programme and portfolio leadership to maintain a coherent delivery view and trustworthy data.

Requirements

• Proven experience setting up and running PMO planning and reporting across multiple delivery teams.
• Hands-on experience configuring work management tools for real delivery teams, including Microsoft Planner or equivalent.
• Strong Power BI skills, including defining and developing reports and dashboards from complex or inconsistent delivery data.
• Experience assessing tools and processes for fitness for purpose and leading resulting changes.
• Experience designing repeatable ways of working and documenting them clearly for others to follow.
• Experience mentoring or coaching delivery staff to adopt consistent approaches.
• Programme or project management background, with an understanding of how task-level details roll up into programme views and what leadership needs from reporting.
• Comfort with an iterative approach that establishes workable solutions quickly and improves them over time.
• Ability to explain plans and reports to audiences ranging from delivery teams to senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Public-sector or central-government programme experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Apps, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience building and maintaining Power BI reports.
• Data modelling or DAX skills beyond standard Power BI reporting.
• Portfolio-level resource and capacity planning experience.
• Familiarity with Agile, MSP, or PRINCE2 delivery frameworks.
