PMO Lead

Location: Hampshire or Bath/Bristol, United Kingdom; hybrid options to be discussed. The role requires eligibility for UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, applicable residency requirements, and the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may be subject to nationality requirements.

What you will do

• Establish and operate the PMO operating model, governance, processes, tools, and standards.
• Develop integrated programme plans covering milestones, dependencies, critical paths, resources, capacity, and skills gaps.
• Support Programme Boards, Steering Committees, and client governance forums with accurate dashboards, reports, and governance packs.
• Own RAID, risk, issue, financial, quality assurance, stage-gate, deliverable tracking, and acceptance processes.
• Support transition readiness assessments, cutover, go-live, and hypercare governance.
• Develop governance for the ongoing IT Change pipeline, including prioritisation, delivery tracking, benefits realisation, ITIL integration, lessons learned, and PMO maturity improvement.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a PMO Lead, PMO Manager, or Senior PMO Analyst.
• Proven experience establishing and operating PMO functions within complex IT environments.
• Experience supporting IT Transition, transformation, outsourcing, or managed service programmes.
• Strong programme governance, planning, reporting, risk, and financial management skills.
• Experience producing senior-level reporting, dashboards, and governance packs.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including client-facing experience.
• Experience with programme planning or PPM tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Jira, ServiceNow, Planview, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of programme and project methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or PMI/PMP.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex programme data into clear, actionable insight; ability to challenge constructively, influence senior stakeholders, and work effectively in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Nice to have

• MSP, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, P3O, MoP, or ITIL qualifications.
• Experience in government, defence, regulated, or security-conscious environments.
