TL;DR
Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Fintech): Running and growing the low-latency network and cloud estate behind a global OTC trading platform with an accent on colocation networking, BGP, AWS connectivity, Linux, and infrastructure as code. Focus on bringing new data-centre sites online, tracing production issues from the wire to the application, and maintaining reliable systems through monitoring, runbooks, and post-incident reviews.
Location: Remote, UK-based, with occasional on-site work at data centres, most often in London (Slough). Candidates must have the existing right to work in the UK. Infrastructure changes may be scheduled outside trading hours, including weekends, with participation in an on-call rota.
Company
hirify.global operates an OTC trading platform handling more than $75 billion in daily trading volume across FX, equities, and cryptocurrency, connecting more than 60 liquidity providers.
What you will do
Run and grow low-latency networking across colocation sites, including switching, routing, cross-connects, BGP peering, and trading-traffic fabric.
Bring new data-centre sites to application-ready status, starting with Tokyo.
Maintain hybrid connectivity into multi-region AWS, including Direct Connect, routing, and failover.
Operate Linux hosts and containers using Ansible, Git, and Terraform, with infrastructure changes delivered through code.
Build monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and post-incident reviews that support reliable operations.
Plan infrastructure capacity, forecast growth, set timelines, report progress, and coordinate with TechOps and engineering.
Requirements
At least 4 years of experience running production infrastructure in a latency-sensitive environment such as HFT, an exchange, market data, or bank trading infrastructure.
Hands-on routing and switching experience, including MLAG, LACP, VLANs, and production BGP.
Strong understanding of low-latency behaviour, including buffers, microbursts, and congestion handling.
Colocation experience with cabinets, cross-connects, remote hands, and vendor management.
Solid Linux, specifically RHEL, and TCP/IP knowledge, with the ability to trace issues from the wire to the application.
Infrastructure as code and containers as the default way of working.
Working knowledge of AWS networking and the ability to learn the rest of the technology stack; networking depth is more important than specific cloud or platform tooling.
Methodical, evidence-led troubleshooting and clear documentation.
Existing right to work in the UK.
Nice to have
Project management experience, including owning timelines, reporting progress, and working with operations teams to meet deadlines.
Kernel bypass experience with Onload or ef_vi, plus PTP and time synchronisation.
Experience bringing a new colocation site online.
FIX protocol or OTC FX market knowledge.
Python experience for tooling.
Culture & Benefits
Remote-friendly working with flexible hours and time off in lieu for out-of-hours work.
Ownership of a live global trading network in a small, expert infrastructure team.
Transparent, feedback-oriented culture focused on documentation and systems that do not rely on individual heroics.
Up to 38 days of leave including bank holidays.
Private health insurance, pension, life insurance, dental and optical cashback, cycle-to-work support, socials, and offsites.
Hiring process
Initial conversation with Talent Acquisition by video call, approximately 30–45 minutes.
Technical deep dive with the Head of Infrastructure by video call, approximately 90 minutes.
Leadership conversation with the CDO by video call, approximately 45 minutes.
