Network Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Glasgow, Bellshill, or Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise network projects from design through implementation, taking end-to-end ownership of solutions.
• Design and deliver routing, switching, firewall, wireless, campus, data centre, spine-leaf, and fabric-based network architectures.
• Produce low-level designs, implementation and migration plans, configuration baselines, network diagrams, test results, and handover documentation.
• Deploy, configure, test, optimise, and troubleshoot Cisco and Fortinet infrastructure, including firewalls, SD-WAN, switching, wireless, and management platforms.
• Perform hands-on builds, proof-of-concept work, lab validation, rehearsals, migrations, and technical testing before production deployment.
• Collaborate with project managers, security teams, customers, and stakeholders through workshops, design reviews, change execution, and technical discussions.

Requirements

• Strong enterprise networking experience with hands-on project delivery, implementation, and design.
• Cisco networking expertise at CCNP/CCIE level or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of modern data centre and campus network design patterns.
• Experience with Fortinet Security Fabric, including FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiSASE, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
• Ability to produce detailed technical and low-level design documentation and experience delivering solutions in structured, governed environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across complex network environments, including Cisco ISR and ASR routers, Nexus, VXLAN, VPCs, Catalyst 9000, StackWise Virtual, IPSec VPNs, Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco Secure Firewall/FTD, and wireless infrastructure.
• Knowledge of SASE solutions, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cisco Secure Connect, Cisco Wireless WLC/C9800, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki, Cisco ACI, HP, and Aruba platforms.
• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments, VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, and wider compute and storage integrations.
• Experience with DevNet principles, automation, Ansible, and Python.
• Ability to work directly with large enterprise or blue-chip customers and communicate technical decisions clearly.

Nice to have

• CCNP or CCIE certification.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
• Experience in regulated or critical infrastructure sectors such as energy, utilities, oil and gas, defence, or OT environments.
