10891-Manager, Platform Engineering (Windows/Linux)

Location: Joliet, Illinois, United States; 5 days on-site with 24x7 on-call support and onsite rotation for P1/P2 incidents.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor the platform engineering team supporting plant infrastructure and operational workloads.
• Manage day-to-day IT operations, including incident, problem, and change management, service levels, and 24x7 operational readiness.
• Oversee Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization, compute infrastructure, storage, backup, and network services.
• Administer capacity planning and performance optimization for HPE Nimble/Alletra storage and Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Direct the configuration and support of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls to maintain secure and reliable plant connectivity.
• Manage onshore and offshore infrastructure engineers, coordinate plant solutions, and oversee emergency response and major incident management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred or equivalent work experience, including 6+ years in Information Technology.
• 10 years of experience managing a technical support or infrastructure team.
• Experience leading the integration and support of Windows and Linux server environments, including Red Hat/CentOS, and virtualization platforms.
• Hands-on experience managing HPE Nimble/Alletra storage and Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Strong working knowledge of Cisco network devices, including routing, switching, and firewalls.
• 7+ years of experience managing compute, storage, backup, and network infrastructure.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Experience managing supervisors and individual contributors, including hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
• Ability to work on complex issues requiring in-depth analysis and to coordinate with contacts outside the area of expertise.

Nice to have

• Prior experience supporting a manufacturing or plant environment.
• ITIL certification.
• AWS and/or Azure certification.
