IT Systems Engineer (Azure)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid. The role offers the opportunity to work from anywhere in the world for up to 8 weeks per year.

What you will do

• Administer, optimize, monitor, back up, upgrade, and maintain Azure hosting, storage, networking, and identity integrations.
• Support functional changes and modernization initiatives across Azure and O365, moving toward cloud-native services and IaaS.
• Operate and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WLAN, routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, SASE, and firewall environments.
• Support Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, certificate-based authentication, Zero-Trust practices, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Resolve second- and third-line incidents, execute technical changes, and maintain infrastructure documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with global IT teams on Azure integrations, networking upgrades, security enhancements, operational excellence, cost efficiency, and SLA targets.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in IT engineering or infrastructure roles.
• Strong experience administering, operating, and integrating Azure environments.
• Solid networking experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and Cisco or similar technologies.
• Experience with SOC/MDR operations and cloud security tooling.
• Experience with O365, Active Directory or Entra ID, Intune, and Windows Server.
• Familiarity with ITIL and incident, change, and problem management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Azure, networking, and security domains.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with global teams.
