IT Architect (IT/OT)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; projects require remote and on-site work and worldwide travel.

What you will do

• Lead the technical management of IT/OT integration solutions in international projects across the full lifecycle, from sales and implementation through customer handover and hypercare.
• Design IT/OT architectures for high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, secure information and communication, and remote access.
• Adapt architecture concepts to customer requirements and translate business and technical requirements into practical implementations.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, act as the primary technical contact, negotiate solutions, and resolve conflicts.
• Supervise suppliers and ensure delivery quality, schedule, and cost compliance.
• Present solution proposals, monitor project progress, and create technical documentation and work instructions for customers, suppliers, project management, and resident IT/OT engineers.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related ICT qualification or certification.
• Proven expertise in medium- to large-scale IT/OT integration projects in plant engineering, particularly automated intralogistics and/or production systems.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop joint solutions with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of different IT architecture options.
• Experience with physical and virtual server environments, network infrastructure, and security infrastructure design.
• Strong knowledge of classic and hyperconverged datacenter design principles; private cloud datacenter knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong on-premises expertise; cloud expertise is beneficial.
• Knowledge of secure network design principles, IEC 62443, and ISO 27001; corresponding certification is beneficial.
• Several years of requirements-analysis experience for IT/OT systems in automation and/or production environments.
• Proven expertise with SLAs and the design of highly available IT environments, including ITIL v4.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Willingness to travel worldwide for project assignments.
• Excellent analytical skills, customer focus, stress resilience, intercultural competence, and teamwork.

• Private cloud datacenter expertise.
• Cloud expertise in addition to strong on-premises experience.
• Certification related to IEC 62443 or ISO 27001.
• Additional language skills.
