Quality Manager (Construction)

Location: Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. Full-time site presence is required.

What you will do

• Monitor and support the Project Execution Plan, project procedures, quality systems, and governance against client specifications and design requirements.
• Develop and maintain site procedures, inspection and test plans, checklists, non-conformance registers, corrective actions, root cause analyses, audits, and assurance records.
• Advise project staff, subcontractors, suppliers, the client, and supply chain partners on quality systems, material acceptance, risk mitigation, and issue resolution.
• Lead the project audit programme and support the close-out of corrective actions.
• Prepare and drive the successful handover file, including progressive assurance documentation produced during construction.
• Report project system performance, lessons learned, risks, and improvement opportunities while contributing to operational planning and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Substation construction experience, including earthworks, civils, steelwork building erection, mechanical and electrical fit-out, ducting, drainage, surfacing, materials and testing, fencing, and SUDS.
• Lead Auditor qualification.
• Chartered Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute.
• Experience supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality management systems related to site activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively and raise awareness of potential issues.
• Proficiency in the application and use of information technology.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and manage change effectively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Lean construction practices and techniques.
• Working knowledge of digital construction applications, platforms, and practices.
• Degree-level or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience working in construction project delivery.
• Substation, earthworks, and material testing experience.
