Hardware (HW) Qualification and Development Support Team (DST) Engineer IV (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States. Travel required up to 10% of the time. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $161,000–$221,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support R&D module owners with off-tool and on-tool module integration, calibration, and qualification.
• Qualify module performance against specifications and support R&D development activities.
• Lead qualification of complex, non-system components, including risk assessment and execution of qualification plans.
• Define, execute, and qualify calibration procedures for off-tool and on-tool applications.
• Act as a tool owner and expert in tool builds, complex integration, build books, and subsystem ATP tests.
• Provide advanced debugging and third-level escalation support while aligning priorities, schedules, R&D activities, and results across multiple organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 4–7 years of experience.
• Specialized expertise in at least two R&D disciplines: optics, electronics, motion, or SEM.
• Experience qualifying complex components, assessing risks, and defining and executing qualification and calibration plans.
• Proficiency with MES platforms such as SiView, hirify.global APF, Siemens Opcenter, or equivalent, including monitoring lot holds, reviewing step histories, and extracting operational data for yield analysis and process troubleshooting.
• Expertise in tool builds, complex integration, production documentation, build books, subsystem ATP testing, and advanced debugging.
• Ability to solve complex problems, exercise analytical judgment, communicate difficult concepts, negotiate viewpoints, and drive cross-functional alignment.
