Software Engineer II (Peru)

Location: Remote in Peru

Salary: $2,800–$6,000 gross USD per month

What you will do

• Build and maintain innovative product features for the hirify.global platform.
• Collaborate with feature owners and engineers across teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable products.
• Participate in design and architecture discussions, code reviews, planning, estimations, and project delivery.
• Continuously build and deploy scalable solutions and contribute hands-on to the codebase.
• Mentor engineers who are starting their careers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in software development and experience solving technical problems as part of a team.
• Familiarity with modern frontend development; React experience is preferred in the source requirements.
• Ability to solve problems using backend-focused languages such as Go or a similar compiled, statically typed language.
• Intermediate understanding of relational databases such as MySQL.
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
• Comfort leveraging AI to improve productivity, research, and communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of automated testing for applications, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Familiarity with RESTful API principles.
• Basic knowledge of microservice architecture.
• Close familiarity with software engineering tools, software development methodology, and release processes.

Hiring process

• Wonderlic test lasting approximately 30–40 minutes.
• Coding assessment lasting approximately 1.5 hours, followed by recruiter and engineering interviews.
• Final interview with engineering leadership lasting approximately 30–45 minutes, followed by an offer if successful.
