Autonomy Engineer Intern (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite internship

Compensation: $47/hour for undergraduate students, $53/hour for master's students, and $70/hour for PhD students

Develops autonomous drones and aerial mobility technology using artificial intelligence, hardware, software, and computer vision.

What you will do

• Architect and implement computer vision and autonomy algorithms running on drones.
• Own a project that advances autonomy capabilities and drone products in collaboration with core software developers.
• Research, prototype, and assess the feasibility of new approaches for intelligent autonomous systems.
• Design and implement features that expand product capabilities.
• Characterize and quantify the performance of core software and hardware components.

Requirements

• High proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for one or more of: computer vision, deep learning, motion planning, dynamics and controls, 3D graphics, embedded software or firmware, distributed systems, tools or infrastructure, and mobile.
• Solid software engineering foundation and commitment to writing clean, well-architected code.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, small-team environment.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, theory, and software development with relevant research experience.
