TL;DR
Computer Vision Engineer (Robotics): Building production computer-vision systems for robotic electronics assembly with an accent on optical inspection, part picking, fiducial detection, calibration, and GPU-accelerated image capture. Focus on combining classical vision and deep learning, creating training-data loops, and measuring model accuracy in production.

Location: Remote; Cambridge, UK; London, UK. Compensation is listed separately for the UK and US.

Salary: UK £80K–£125K or US $125K–$250K, depending on experience, plus equity.

Company

hirify.global is building The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform for efficient small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly. The platform is live, scaling, generating revenue, and used by major companies including an EV maker and a top AI lab.

What you will do

  • Improve automated optical inspection for missing, rotated, incorrectly placed parts, and defective solder, working alongside AI agents.
  • Train and deploy models for reliable part picking from bins and trays, including centering parts on the nozzle and detecting clumped or dropped picks.
  • Develop fiducial detection, calibration, and image-alignment systems for sub-millimetre placement accuracy.
  • Design data-capture processes, build labelling tools, and convert operator verdicts into training data.
  • Work with high-speed cameras and GPU capture pipelines to move computer vision closer to real time.
  • Track production accuracy, identify error sources, and validate changes against historical results.

Requirements

  • Production experience shipping computer-vision systems beyond notebook-based prototypes.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python, C++, or a comparable language.
  • Experience with both classical computer vision, including geometry, calibration, and template matching, and deep learning, with the ability to choose the appropriate approach.
  • Ability to use coding agents to work faster and take full ownership of their output.
  • Interest in physical systems involving lighting, lenses, and rotated electronic components.

Nice to have

  • Experience with industrial or machine-vision cameras.

Culture & Benefits

  • Remote role with locations listed in Cambridge and London, UK.
  • Work on a live robotics platform delivering revenue in electronics manufacturing.
  • Equity offered in addition to salary.
  • Collaboration with AI agents and high-speed camera and GPU infrastructure.
