Senior Java Engineer (Banking)

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java 17 and Java 21.
• Design and implement Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs, and enterprise integration solutions.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, SQL queries, and data models.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable code and build automated tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps engineers, quality engineers, and developers in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Java development experience, including experience with Java 17 and/or Java 21.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture.
• Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean coding principles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL development, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git-based source control systems.
• Hands-on Azure DevOps experience, including repositories, pipelines, and deployment workflows.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices, DevOps ways of working, and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, application support, release activities, and deployment activities.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and code quality tools.
• Knowledge of application performance tuning and secure software delivery.
• Exposure to payment systems and financial services environments.
