Failure Analysis Engineering Specialist IV - 2nd Shift (FIB)

Location: On-site at the Normandale campus in the United States; the campus spans Edina and Bloomington, Minnesota. Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

Estimated base wage: $29.89–$39.61 per hour.

hirify.global develops and manufactures recording heads at its Normandale R&D site and provides failure analysis capabilities for head process and design improvement.

What you will do

• Support FIB sample preparation using the Helios 1200 FIB.
• Provide feedback to the FIB engineer about sample issues.
• Process incoming requests independently and report progress to the manager, engineers, and team.
• Develop skills with Helios 5 and Nova FIB, TEM, and SEM equipment as required.
• Apply engineering, analytical, and communication skills to determine root causes and support process and design improvement.
• Follow safety instructions and maintain clean workstations and a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Experience operating precision machinery in a laboratory environment.
• Hands-on experience using FIB equipment or similar equipment.
• Experience manipulating small components at slider, bar, HGA, and TEM Lamella level.
• Experience working in a highly dynamic environment.
• Collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice to have

• Related experience and a technical degree.
• Experience with Pick & Place equipment for processing FIB samples.
• Familiarity with TEM or SEM imaging or other process equipment.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Basic electrical and electronic knowledge.
