Mechanical Engineering Technician (Swing Shift)

Location: Post Falls, Idaho, United States; onsite swing shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Pay: $31.00–$46.00 per hour for Mechanical Engineering Technician I, plus a $5.00 per hour second-shift differential. Technician II: $33.00–$50.00 per hour; Technician III: $39.00–$59.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate mechanical solutions that make manufacturing safer, more reliable, and more economical.
• Perform hands-on design work, problem-solving, CAD work, and adjustments to existing designs.
• Use mechanical assemblies, occasional basic pneumatics and electronics, SolidWorks analysis methods, materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate with customers and project stakeholders from problem statement creation through solution integration and project closeout.
• Participate in design reviews, provide and receive feedback, and support production staff.
• Contribute to a small agile team while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

• 2-year or longer technical degree, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Competence in applied physics, geometry, algebra, and basic trigonometry.
• CAD experience.
• Approximately 2 or more years of experience in at least three of the following areas: mechanical design and analysis; materials and processes; mechanics; manufacturing engineering; electronic manufacturing techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and clear, effective written, verbal, and documentation skills.
• Ability to learn new skills quickly, take on new responsibilities, and work effectively in team environments.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test according to SEL requirements.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds; sit and stand for at least 8 hours; reach, bend, and twist.
• Correctable vision of 20/30 or better, ability to differentiate color, and proficiency with computer keyboard devices.

Nice to have

• Experience with a wide variety of mechanical solutions or designing and deploying mechanical solutions.
• Experience supporting design or general engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience writing or running Design of Experiments.
