R&D Intern (Carbon Capture)

Location: Paris, France. The role is hands-on and requires being in the lab every day.

hirify.global is an early-stage climate technology company developing supercapacitive carbon capture for direct air capture, point-source CCS, and CO₂ utilisation.

What you will do

• Assemble electrochemical cells according to established protocols.
• Run multiple tests and experiments in parallel in the laboratory.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues and keep experiments running.
• Record results and maintain clear, tidy, and traceable data for the R&D team.
• Work closely with the R&D CO₂ Capture Lead to accelerate laboratory testing.

Requirements

• Be a Master's student in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Have previous experience in a chemistry laboratory.
• Have a solid understanding of electrochemical principles.
• Be comfortable with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Be able to record and maintain data that is tidy and understandable.
• Follow protocols rigorously and methodically while maintaining traceability across test conditions, results, and documentation.
• Learn new technical domains quickly and close knowledge gaps rapidly.
• Communicate progress and blockers clearly in writing and conversation.
• Work proactively, focus on outcomes, adapt to ambiguity and changing priorities, and engage directly with laboratory work.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or experience assembling supercapacitors, fuel cells, or batteries.
• Direct laboratory electrochemistry experience with CV, EIS, or GCPL.
• Python skills.
