Nanofabrication Intern (Quantum Hardware)

Location: Aubervilliers, France; hybrid workplace. Six-month internship starting in March 2027.

Develops a universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer based on superconducting Schrödinger cat qubits with autonomous quantum error correction.

What you will do

• Review the state of the art in superconducting circuit fabrication techniques.
• Fabricate superconducting circuits in a cleanroom using cleaning, lithography, and etching processes.
• Characterize fabricated devices using SEM, EDX, AFM, and basic room-temperature measurements.
• Optimize cleaning and deoxidation steps to reduce material-related microwave dielectric losses and extend circuit coherence time.
• Continuously improve fabrication and characterization techniques through experimentation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in nanotechnology or applied physics.
• Some knowledge of nanofabrication.
• Proficiency in English.
• Curiosity and rigor to improve processes through experimentation.
• Availability for a six-month internship starting in March 2027.
