Portfolio Systems Engineer

Location: Westport, CT; anticipated onsite requirement of 4 days per week at the Westport campus.

Salary: Wage range of $225,000–$450,000, inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. Expected base salary is 60%–75% of this range.

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve investment systems managing portfolios from risk controls through trade generation.
• Translate investment goals and understanding into robust systematic logic.
• Analyze systems and logic to identify issues and translate them into business solutions.
• Streamline and industrialize the portfolio construction through trade delivery process.
• Own and develop tools for overseeing and validating portfolio construction.
• Set and enforce engineering standards for robust, maintainable, large-scale systems across the Implementation team.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in a relevant engineering field and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting complex issues and developing innovative solutions.
• Hands-on coding experience in any programming language.
• Ability and willingness to learn investment concepts and terminology, including security mechanics and portfolio construction, and apply them to engineered systems.
• Ability to prioritize and drive multiple workstreams in parallel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including translating technical concepts for different stakeholders.
• Practical, goal-oriented approach and ability to work with partners across the firm to identify and solve problems.
• Desire to use technology and engineering to solve real-world business problems.
