Communications Manager, Claude Platform (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of Anthropic's offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.

Annual salary: $265,000–$295,000 USD.

What you will do

• Own external communications for the Claude Platform API, including capability releases, product updates, and developer-facing news.
• Build relationships with journalists, newsletter writers, and creators covering AI platforms, enterprise software, and the API economy.
• Prepare Platform leaders for press interviews, podcasts, panels, and other communications opportunities.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations to align external narratives with product development, sales, and support.
• Surface customer feedback to the teams able to act on it.
• Coordinate press, social, owned, and community channels based on the needs of each communications moment.

Requirements

• Experience in communications, PR, or product marketing, including meaningful experience with platform, API, developer, or enterprise products.
• Understanding of developer culture and enterprise buying, with sound judgment about timing and tone in conversations around AI.
• Strong judgment about which product moments deserve attention and curiosity about what makes a launch successful.
• Ability to operate with high agency and low ego, with a bias toward action.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• 8–10 years of experience in communications, PR, or product marketing.
• Communications experience at a developer-platform, API-first, or enterprise-software company.
• Existing relationships with reporters and analysts covering AI platforms, enterprise technology, or the developer ecosystem.
• Experience managing communications for AI or ML products.
• Strong awareness of developer channels, Hacker News, and developer social discussions, with the ability to identify emerging topics early.
