Media & PR Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York, London, or Mountain View; willingness to travel up to 25% for team meetings, industry conferences, and media engagements.

Salary: $193,553–$215,058.

What you will do

• Build sustained relationships with technical trades, mainstream media, selected analysts, independent media, podcasters, event organizers, and industry forums.
• Develop tailored pitches, press releases, media kits, briefings, Q&A materials, contributed pieces, speaker proposals, and recognition nominations.
• Lead PR programs for product, research, financing, partnership, and company milestone announcements from planning through launch and follow-up.
• Develop public voices for executives, engineers, and researchers, preparing them for interviews, talks, panels, and analyst briefings.
• Coordinate partner communications, investor PR, editorial, technical writing, product marketing, social, and creative production around announcements and amplification.
• Prioritize media, speaking, and recognition opportunities based on audience fit, business relevance, expected impact, and leadership time.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in media relations, PR, or journalism, with work in deep tech, semiconductors, AI infrastructure, or adjacent industries; experience may come from an agency, newsroom, or company.
• Ability to recognize strong stories, develop original angles, write tailored pitches, and understand the editorial interests of target contacts.
• Experience running complex announcements involving leaders and multiple organizations, including planning, materials, reviews, dependencies, and external deadlines.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technical domains quickly, ask useful questions, build credibility with engineers and researchers, and explain technical results accurately.
• Ability to assess interviews, talks, panels, and alternative media opportunities based on audience, impact, and required time.
• Ability to build productive relationships with journalists, independent media, event organizers, and external communications teams while handling competing priorities and sensitive information.
• Strong writing across press releases, contributed articles, speaker proposals, briefing materials, media kits, and Q&A documents.
• Experience preparing leaders for public engagements and helping new spokespeople develop confidence and a distinct point of view; ability to write in another person's voice.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.
