Senior Planner (Transit)

Location: Must be located in the Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston metropolitan areas in the United States.

Salary: $155k–$175k+ per year.

What you will do

• Lead transit planning across policy, market analysis, strategic planning, service planning, operations, capital planning, data analysis, finance, funding, corridor studies, and public engagement.
• Manage projects from delivery planning through completion, ensuring work is on time, on budget, and meets client and project manager expectations.
• Direct project staff, provide feedback, mentor junior employees, and coordinate technical leaders, subconsultants, and cross-functional teams.
• Produce high-quality technical deliverables and provide value-added support to project managers and clients.
• Develop client relationships, identify business opportunities, and lead teaming negotiations with consulting firms.
• Contribute to bid/no-bid decisions, win themes, teaming and pricing strategies, and proposal content.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, or a related area.
• 10+ years of industry-related experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing projects.
• Experience leading corridor studies, network redesigns, market analyses, fare studies, long-range transportation plans, and related transit plans.
• Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
• A strong professional network in the transportation industry.
• Residence in the Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston metropolitan areas.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, or a related area.
• 5+ years of experience in public sector consulting and professional services.
