Manager, Production Planning (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Remote, United States.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually for US-based candidates; location-based ranges may apply outside the US.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, coach, and develop production planners while setting priorities and ensuring consistent planning practices and coverage.
• Own mid- and long-term production plans for non-sterile compounded products, including planning horizons, plan-of-record cadence, frozen windows, and scheduled handoff to Production Scheduling.
• Manage finished-goods inventory while maintaining click-to-deliver metrics and aligning plans with demand forecasts and inventory policies.
• Build what-if scenarios and capacity models covering labor, equipment, materials, demand, product mix, batch sizes, and shift patterns.
• Identify, document, and communicate capacity risks, including volume at risk, timing, delivery impact, and inventory impact; recommend plan revisions when required.
• Recommend and coordinate actions such as training, hiring, labor planning, overtime, shift design, equipment and facility investment, and outsourcing; monitor plan attainment, forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, cycle times, yields, and throughput.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in production planning, capacity planning, or resource planning, with demonstrated experience leading or developing others.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience building capacity models and presenting investment, staffing, or outsourcing recommendations to senior leaders.
• Proficiency in inventory management concepts, including the financial and operational implications of planning decisions.
• Proficiency in Excel, including Lookups, PivotTables, and External Data Connections.
• Deep knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing planning processes.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• APICS/CPIM certification.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or pharmacy production or manufacturing environments.
• Basic SQL and/or Python experience.
