Senior Engineering Manager (Hospitality)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid workplace with an expectation of coming into the office two days a week.

What you will do

• Define the technical vision, strategy, execution, and quality outcomes for a team of frontend and backend engineers.
• Build and operate scalable, reliable CRM systems and product platforms for guest-centric restaurant workflows.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Engineering, Data Science, and other engineering groups to shape product roadmaps and translate business needs into scalable systems.
• Improve engineering processes and deliver projects from technical planning through production.
• Mentor, coach, and grow Senior+ product engineers through feedback and leadership.
• Influence product and design roadmaps while fostering ownership, accountability, innovation, and engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with scalable backend applications, preferably data-intensive systems, together with experience leading teams.
• Strong software engineering background and experience architecting systems end to end.
• Experience managing full-stack teams consisting of frontend and backend engineers.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.
• Experience driving successful projects from technical planning through production.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with developers, designers, and product owners at all career levels.
• Product-minded approach with the ability to influence product and design roadmaps.
• Ownership, accountability, growth orientation, empathy, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong background in building both transactional and analytical systems; experience with hirify.global's exact tools is not required.
