Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Hybrid, with 2 days per week in a downtown Toronto office, Canada.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support full stack enterprise applications across front-end and back-end environments.
• Build responsive, accessible interfaces with React and develop back-end services, business logic, and APIs with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python.
• Design microservices-based architectures, secure RESTful APIs, service integrations, relational databases, schemas, and optimized SQL queries.
• Contribute to cloud-native deployments and operational support on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, release processes, deployment automation, automated testing, peer reviews, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to define solutions, troubleshoot full stack issues, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience, including significant full stack development.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot for enterprise application development.
• Proven experience building scalable web applications with React.
• Familiarity with Node.js and Python on the back end.
• Strong experience designing and building APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, schema design, and query optimization.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding principles; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript and modern front-end architecture patterns.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment models.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging systems, or asynchronous processing.
• Knowledge of API gateways, observability, logging, and monitoring tools.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale environments with high availability and security requirements.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
• Background in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• Experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical leadership.
