Engineering Intern - Hardware Reliability (Summer 2027)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, United States; onsite

Hourly rates: $23/hour for sophomores, $24/hour for juniors, $27/hour for seniors and master's students.

What you will do

• Support reliability test planning, execution, monitoring, and documentation for fuel dispenser hardware.
• Contribute to environmental, mechanical, electrical, and life-cycle testing for new product development and existing product sustainment.
• Collect and analyze test data, assist with failure analysis, and summarize results in technical reports.
• Work hands-on in the reliability lab with test equipment, fixtures, samples, and instrumentation under engineer or technician guidance.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings covering product reliability, test status, risks, and corrective actions.
• Complete a defined summer project and present findings, recommendations, and lessons learned to the reliability engineering team.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Reliability Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; ideally entering the junior or senior year.
• Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals, data analysis, statistics, test methods, and/or product design principles.
• Interest in hardware reliability and hands-on testing.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory and cross-functional engineering environment.
