Staff Frontend Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $202,500–$274,000 per year; may also include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Create front-end solutions for exceptional customer experiences across web and mobile applications.
• Translate customer insights into mockups, wireframes, and proof-of-concept code.
• Lead a small team in solving complex programming and design issues, providing technical direction and mentoring junior engineers.
• Contribute to project design, software architecture, and the full front-end development lifecycle.
• Analyze, evaluate, and prioritize technical issues and features to ensure high-quality solutions.
• Launch AI integrations in production, monitor their impact on software performance and user satisfaction, and improve applications using AI.

Requirements

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience developing web, software, or mobile applications.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with software design and architecture processes and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience consuming or creating web services with REST or SOAP.
• Ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Expertise in unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD), plus familiarity with highly scalable and available web applications.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating large-scale, consumer-facing web or mobile applications and working with open-source technologies.
• Proficiency in building functional AI models using prompting and AutoML, monitoring models in production, and making performance adjustments; in-depth understanding of AI integration and the ability to lead integration while coaching junior engineers.
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers.
