Frontend Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or New York City, United States

Salary: $220K–$405K per year plus equity; USD ranges apply only to U.S.-based positions.

What you will do

• Build and ship polished, intuitive web interfaces for human-agent collaboration.
• Improve high-visibility product surfaces, including agent chat threads, artifact editing, and message composition.
• Partner with product design to prototype, architect, and implement novel interfaces in production.
• Solve complex problems involving architecture, state management, animation, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with capabilities and research teams to translate current research into coherent production experiences.
• Design reusable libraries and SDKs to support other product teams and maintain a high quality bar.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in modern web technologies, including React, TypeScript, and CSS.
• Exceptional attention to detail across aesthetics, performance, and code quality.
• Ability to own projects end-to-end in a high-velocity, ambiguous environment.
• Strong product sensibilities, including the ability to evaluate what will work, explain why, and identify what will not.
• Customer-focused approach to building experiences for end users.
