Senior Software Development Manager, Commerce

Salary: $141,807–$212,710 annual base pay

What you will do

• Lead the definition, architecture, development, and delivery of Commerce software across multiple teams.
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization by hiring, coaching, and growing engineers, managers, and technical leaders.
• Set technical strategy for product discovery, vehicle and accessory configuration, cart and checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment.
• Drive technical decisions, simplify complex problems, and balance customer experience, business priorities, delivery speed, and long-term technical excellence.
• Partner with Product, UX, Program Management, and engineering leaders to create customer-driven solutions and align cross-functional execution.
• Maintain high standards for software quality, reliability, performance, operational excellence, resourcing, and delivery across multiple roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience building and delivering customer-facing software, including 7+ years leading and developing software engineering teams. Experience must include leading multiple teams or managing managers.
• Strong technical leadership experience covering architecture, complex technical trade-offs, and engineering decisions across teams.
• Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with modern ecommerce architectures and integrations across product catalog, cart and checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment systems.
• Familiarity with marketplace or multi-vendor commerce models and their technical challenges.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience partnering with Product, UX, and Program Management teams to deliver customer-driven software products.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, developing leaders, and managing performance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
