Software Development Manager (Commerce)

Salary: $108,877–$163,316 annual base pay

What you will do

• Lead the definition, architecture, development, and delivery of Commerce software covering product discovery, vehicle and accessory configuration, cart and checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment.
• Build, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team through direction, coaching, feedback, and career development.
• Set Commerce technical strategy and make decisions balancing customer experience, business priorities, engineering velocity, and long-term technical excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Program Management, and engineering leaders to create customer-driven solutions and align technical and business teams.
• Maintain high standards for software quality, reliability, performance, and operational excellence while simplifying complex problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience building and delivering customer-facing software, including 5+ years leading and developing software engineering teams.
• Strong technical leadership experience in architecture, complex technical trade-offs, and cross-team engineering decisions.
• Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with modern ecommerce architectures and integrations across product catalog, cart and checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment systems.
• Familiarity with marketplace or multi-vendor commerce models and their technical challenges.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience partnering with Product, UX, and Program Management teams to deliver customer-driven software products.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
