Associate Claims Manager - Dental/Medmal

Location: Remote (United States); travel as necessary, approximately 10–15%.

Estimated pay range: $120,000–$160,000 per year; base salary depends on market data, location, internal equity, and experience.

What you will do

• Investigate coverage, liability, and damages for assigned claims accurately and promptly.
• Manage claims toward timely and cost-effective resolutions, including data-driven claim valuation and legal cost control.
• Build productive relationships with policyholders, brokers, carrier partners, Risk Engineers, Claims leadership, Data and Engineering teams, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Direct and monitor experts and outside counsel, holding vendors accountable to service standards.
• Use the hirify.global claims system to capture critical claim details and support data collection and claims models.
• Identify emerging claims trends and provide feedback to improve claims processes, guidelines, and systems.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years litigating or managing dental professional liability or medical professional liability claims.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• All required state claim adjuster licenses, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work independently on complex matters and collaboratively to support others.
• Personal initiative and leadership skills.
• Exceptional time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Comfort working in a paperless claims environment and using Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
• Creative thinking, data-driven decision-making, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to succeed in a fully remote workplace and travel as necessary, approximately 10–15%.

Nice to have

• Previous carrier experience.
• Law degree (J.D.).
• Professional designations such as RPLU or AIC.
• Familiarity with the Google Docs Editors suite.
