Head of AI Adoption & Governance (AI)

Location: Hybrid in hirify.global’s New York City office; work from home Monday and Friday and work in the office Tuesday through Thursday. The salary range applies specifically to candidates located in the New York City area.

Base salary: $200,000–$250,000 annually, excluding discretionary annual cash bonus and equity compensation.

What you will do

• Build the business case and roadmap for internal AI adoption, selecting tools, teams, sequencing, and use cases based on business impact.
• Translate the company’s risk posture into practical AI guardrails and report adoption, delivered value, and potential risks to leadership.
• Build and maintain data classification rules, operationalize client contractual obligations, and protect confidential client and company data.
• Define incident response paths for AI-specific failures, including prompt-based data exposure, unreviewed client-facing outputs, and vendor breaches.
• Run AI use-case pilots with clear success criteria, stopping usage that does not work or scale.
• Build enablement through training, prompt and use-case libraries, internal champions, and close partnership with Security, Legal, IT, and Engineering.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience across security, privacy, technology risk, IT strategy, or technical program management, including work in a regulated or high-confidentiality environment.
• Practical experience deploying software in an organization and driving user adoption, not only evaluating or governing software.
• Working fluency with GDPR, CCPA, and SOC 2 sufficient to make decisions and know when to involve counsel.
• Technical depth to engage vendors on retention, model training, and access controls and secure satisfactory responses.
• Comfort owning ambiguous decisions and defending them to executives and clients.
• Experience in professional services, consulting, or another business built on client confidentiality.
• Experience launching governance from scratch.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Impeccable attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
