Sr Enterprise Data Governance Manager (AI)

Location: Jersey City, United States of America

Salary: $170,000–$220,000 annual base salary plus annual target bonus

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise data governance program within the Enterprise Data Protection team across the full data lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain data governance strategies, policies, standards, operating models, governance councils, stewardship programs, and accountability frameworks.
• Define and implement AI security controls and governance for AI tools, including AI, GenAI, LLMs, and AI agents.
• Oversee data masking in lower environments and data archive and destruction initiatives in accordance with records management policies and standards.
• Identify and implement tools to automate execution, monitoring, tracking, and reporting for data governance, archive, and destruction activities.
• Manage complex programs, budgets, resources, dependencies, priorities, executive reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the data destruction program team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of overall experience, including at least 5 years in data protection, governance, and risk management.
• Strong understanding of AI, GenAI, LLMs, AI agents, and associated security risks.
• Deep understanding of data and AI governance frameworks.
• Required experience with data discovery, masking, archive, and destruction tools.
• Understanding of program and project management principles, tools, and techniques.
• Experience managing individuals and teams, and experience in change management.
• Understanding of application programming, database, and system design.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of cloud data governance practices across Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud environments.
• Influencing and leadership skills, including negotiation and conflict management; customer focus, teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication with executives, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to the audience.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MS Purview, Informatica, and Varonis.
